What it is
La Hacienda sits directly on the promenade at the water's edge in Mexico, with a wall of windows facing World Showcase Lagoon. It opened in 2010 and serves a more grill-forward Mexican menu than San Angel Inn across the plaza — skirt steak, mixed grills, tacos built at the table.
The cooking is generally the better of the two Mexican table-service restaurants. The kitchen is more consistent, the portions are larger, and the room is bright enough to actually see what you ordered.
The reason people book it is the view. A window table with a late seating gives you a straight line across the lagoon for the nighttime show, and it is one of only a handful of restaurants at EPCOT where that is genuinely true rather than technically true.

Tips for La Hacienda de San Angel
- Book roughly ninety minutes before the nighttime show and ask for a window table. You want to be seated and mostly finished when the lights go down, not waiting on entrees.
- Window tables cannot be guaranteed at booking, but asking politely at check-in and offering to wait ten minutes works more often than not.
- The molcajete is the sleeper order and easily feeds two people. It arrives in a hot stone bowl and stays hot for the length of the meal.
- If the show view is the goal and you cannot get a table, the wall outside on the promenade in front of the restaurant is one of the better free viewing spots on that side.
- Dinner only. Do not walk over at lunchtime expecting to eat here — cross the plaza to San Angel Inn or La Cantina instead.

Can you watch the nighttime show from La Hacienda?
From a window table, yes, and it is one of the best restaurant views at EPCOT. Interior tables see much less. Book a late seating and request the window at check-in.
How is La Hacienda different from San Angel Inn?
Same pavilion, very different rooms. San Angel Inn is inside the pyramid in near darkness with a more traditional menu; La Hacienda is a bright lagoon-front room with a grill-focused menu and generally more consistent cooking.
Is La Hacienda open for lunch?
No, dinner only. For a midday meal in the Mexico pavilion, use La Cantina de San Angel outside or San Angel Inn inside the pyramid.
Is it too spicy for children?
Heat levels are moderate and the children's menu is mild. Ask your server about specific dishes; the kitchen will adjust on several of them.
