Oogie Boogie Bash: what the ticket buys, what it costs, and how to actually get one

Disney lists 2026 general admission as sold out as of September 26. Its event page says tickets for the D23-member night on September 27 remain available; eligibility and stock can change.

The party has 33 dates, August 18 through October 31. The future dates as of September 26 are September 27 and 29; October 1, 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29 and 31.

The published date prices were $139–$199, with October 31 at $199. A posted historical price does not mean a ticket is available now.

Which night to pick, and why early beats late

The published 2026 calendar is mostly Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Saturday, October 31 as the final party night. September 27 is reserved for D23 members and their guests.

Ticket prices are date-based, from $139 on some early nights to $199 on October 31. With general tickets sold out, select a night from a ticket you already hold rather than planning around a theoretical price.

The event has limited capacity, but individual waits and character appearances vary. Check the Disneyland app on the day for the current event guide.

The three hours before the party are free real estate

Your valid event ticket admits you to Disney California Adventure at 3:00 p.m., three hours before the 6:00 p.m. party begins. No separate park reservation is needed for entry at 3:00 p.m. or later.

Use the pre-party hours for regular daytime offerings, then decide which party-only experiences matter most once the event begins. Ride and character waits vary; check the Disneyland app rather than assuming a fixed queue pattern.

The pattern reverses again in the last 90 minutes. Families with young children leave, the treat trails empty, and the villain queues shorten sharply. If there is one meet you badly want and the line was 60 minutes at eight, check it again at ten.

Eat before the party starts or after nine. The first two hours of the event are when every quick-service line in the park is at its worst, because that is the hour the entire party population discovers it has not had dinner.

Working the treat trails

The treat trails are fixed walk-through routes with candy stations along them, and they are worth doing once each rather than repeatedly. The candy is ordinary; the trails are decorated and themed, and that is the reason to walk them.

Bring your own tote. The bag handed out at the entrance is small and the trails are generous, and the people carrying a folded shopping bag in a pocket are not the ones repacking on a bench at nine in the evening.

Disney says Cast Members at each treat trail can offer alternative options for guests seeking allergy-friendly or no-sugar-added treats. Ask at the trail rather than assuming a particular candy is safe for your dietary needs.

The trails toward the back of the park clear out first, usually by about nine. The ones near the entrance stay busy until close, because that is where guests who arrive late start. Walk the park backwards: start at the far end and finish near the gate.

What to do with the rest of the day

A party ticket costs you the evening of a regular park day, so the day around it needs planning. The efficient pattern is a Disneyland Park morning on a separate regular ticket, a genuine hotel break in the early afternoon, then Disney California Adventure on the party ticket from mid-afternoon.

That break matters more than it sounds. The party runs to eleven at night, the best part of it is the last two hours, and a family that has been on their feet since eight in the morning does not make it that far.

Disney allows costumes at this event subject to its detailed rules. Guests ages 14 and older may not wear masks except for medical purposes; some masks are allowed for ages 13 and under if eyes remain visible. Avoid realistic weapons and costumes that drag.

Photographs are the one thing worth pre-planning. The villain meets have dedicated backdrops and PhotoPass photographers, and the queue length is the entire cost. Pick the three characters your group actually cares about and accept that you will not get all of them.

Do DCA on a party day, and be gone by six

Disney California Adventure closes to regular day guests at 6:00 p.m. on Bash nights. Check the official daily hours before booking a regular DCA ticket for the same date.

One trap worth naming: the 15:00–18:00 mix-in window is the park’s busiest stretch of the day, because regular guests and arriving party guests share the park at once. If you are riding on a day ticket, ride in the morning and treat late afternoon as departure time.
