Disney at Christmas: your actual options at both resorts, and what they cost

The short answer

For the 2026–27 Anaheim season, Disney confirms Holidays at the Disneyland Resort from November 13 through January 6. Book November 13 or later for the advertised holiday program and check the daily calendar for showtimes and ride operations.

For 2026–27, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has 25 select Magic Kingdom nights November 8–December 22, priced $189–$229 plus tax. Disney Jollywood Nights has 15 Hollywood Studios nights November 7–January 5, priced $169–$199 plus tax. EPCOT Festival of the Holidays runs November 27–December 30 with valid park admission.

The Disneyland Resort holiday program is included with regular park admission and a same-day reservation. It includes “it’s a small world” Holiday, Haunted Mansion Holiday, the two Cars Land overlays, A Christmas Fantasy Parade, holiday fireworks, World of Color – Season of Light and Disney Festival of Holidays. What the paid nights cost, and what they replace

The two 2026–27 Walt Disney World party schedules differ: Very Merry has 25 select nights November 8–December 22 at Magic Kingdom; Jollywood has 15 select nights November 7–January 5 at Hollywood Studios. Tickets cost $189–$229 and $169–$199, respectively, plus tax.

A valid party ticket admits guests early without a separate day ticket or park reservation: 4 p.m. for Very Merry and 5:30 p.m. for Jollywood. Both parties are separately ticketed; food and drink terms differ.

Very Merry is the family purchase: a parade, a fireworks show, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, and party-advertised ride versions such as holiday Space Mountain, Tomorrowland Speedway and Mad Tea Party. Jingle Cruise is also available during ordinary Magic Kingdom hours; do not assume the other named ride versions run then. Jollywood Nights is the adult purchase: it runs fewer nights, prices slightly lower, and trades the parade for lounge shows and a food-and-drink offering that is priced separately on top of the ticket.

Very Merry ends December 22. Jollywood has no dates December 24–January 2, then returns January 3 and 5. If you are traveling over Christmas week, check the exact date list before expecting a hard-ticket party.

What regular admission includes, and why Anaheim wins it

Holidays at the Disneyland Resort run November 13, 2026–January 6, 2027, in both Anaheim parks. The four advertised ride overlays and major holiday entertainment are included with park admission; festival food and optional extras are separate purchases.

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is included with valid EPCOT admission November 27–December 30, 2026. Candlelight Processional viewing is included; food and optional dining packages cost extra. Food & Wine ends November 21, leaving November 22–26 without either festival.

Disneyland’s published holiday start is November 13, 2026. Do not use an early-November decoration glimpse as a promise that the full 2026–27 holiday program is operating before that date.

The cheapest week and the week to avoid

For Anaheim, the early part of the confirmed November 13–January 6 holiday program is a planning option before the late-December peak. Verify the daily calendar, because individual shows and attractions can vary even inside the event window.

The week between Christmas and New Year has no Very Merry or Jollywood party date in Disney’s published 2026–27 schedule. The wider Walt Disney World holiday program continues through January 6, and Jollywood returns January 3 and 5.

The Disneyland Resort season ends January 6, 2027. Early-January trips can still overlap the holiday program, but only through that confirmed end date, and individual attraction availability should be checked.

Booking order and sell-out risk

Book in this order: the party night first, the hotel second, the flights third. Very Merry and Jollywood Nights tickets have historically gone on sale in the summer for the following winter, with an annual passholder and Disney Vacation Club presale ahead of general sale. December weekend nights sell out; November midweek nights rarely do.

Candlelight Processional dining packages at EPCOT sell out further ahead than the party tickets do, particularly for the narrator names that draw a crowd. If a specific narrator is the point of the trip, that booking drives your dates.

Which resort to pick for the holidays

Pick the Disneyland Resort for the holiday season itself and Walt Disney World for a holiday party. Anaheim converts more of its parks for longer, includes its advertised park entertainment with admission, and keeps the season running into January. Food and optional extras cost more. Orlando has the better single evening for sale and a much larger trip to build around it.

The cost difference is real. At Disney’s published 2026 Very Merry prices, two adult tickets and two tickets for children ages 3–9 cost $736–$896 before tax, depending on the night. Disneyland Resort holiday entertainment is included with regular admission, although food and optional extras still cost more.
