Disney Jollywood Nights: what it is and whether it's worth it
The best ride value of Walt Disney World's holiday hard tickets and the weakest content value — a late-night party at Hollywood Studios that is really an after-hours ticket with a jazz band attached.

The event debuted in 2023 and has returned in each holiday season since, always at Disney's Hollywood Studios in a mid-November to late-December window. Three cycles is enough to say it comes back; it is not enough to say what it contains, because the entertainment lineup, hours and venues have changed in every cycle. The 2026 dates, prices and program are not confirmed to us as of July 2026, so this page states the pattern and the last confirmed cycle's price band and nothing more precise.

- A capped-attendance evening at Disney's Hollywood Studios, the park with the worst ratio of capacity to demand at Walt Disney World, which is why the ride case here is stronger than at either Magic Kingdom party.
- Park entry ahead of the stated start time on the party ticket, which delivers a stretch of ordinary park operation before any event content begins.
- Live entertainment staged across several venues rather than one parade route: bands, dance sets and holiday-themed stage material in the Echo Lake and Sunset Boulevard areas.
- Character meets in holiday formalwear that do not appear on ordinary days, which is the single most distinctive thing the event has.
- A specialty food and drink menu built for the event, with a cocktail program well beyond what Magic Kingdom's parties offer.
- Short waits on the headliner tier. Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster all run during the party, and the attendance cap does what a Lightning Lane purchase would otherwise have to.
What you do not
- Food and drink are not included. The Magic Kingdom parties hand you unlimited cookies and hot chocolate; this one hands you a menu and a card reader. A couple who eat and drink at the event can add $80 to a $360 evening without trying.
- You are not paying for the projections. The holiday projection sequence on The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the park's holiday dressing run on ordinary nights across the whole season, on an ordinary ticket.
- There is no parade and no dedicated parade route, because Hollywood Studios does not have one. The entertainment is stationary, which means the crowd stands in two or three places and the walkways between them stay congested.
- The format has changed materially in every cycle the event has run. A friend's account of what the party was like two years ago is not a reliable plan, and neither is a competitor's page that has not been rewritten since.
- It is sold to adults and admitted by families, which produces an awkward crowd. The cocktail bars and the late finish suit one audience and the child pricing attracts another, and the event has not resolved the tension.
- Eight to fourteen nights is a very short calendar. It sells out, it sells out early, and there is no cheap night to fall back on.
- A 01:00 finish is a real cost. If you are at another park at opening the next morning, you are not — the day after a Jollywood night is a write-off, and that is a second park day you effectively paid for.

How to actually do Jollywood Nights
Treat it as an after-hours ticket and plan the ride order first
The single most valuable thing at this event is a short line for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and almost nobody plans for it. Build the evening as a ride plan and fit the entertainment around the gaps, rather than the other way round.
The order that works: Rise of the Resistance first, because its queue is the one that closes at the party's end and the standby time falls all night rather than resetting. Then Slinky Dog Dash, which draws the family crowd early and empties late. Then Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster on Sunset Boulevard, both of which run near walk-on in the final hour because the crowd has drifted toward the entertainment.
The queue at Rise of the Resistance closes when the party closes, not before, and guests who join it in the last fifteen minutes are still processed. That is the one line worth joining at the last possible moment, and it is the reverse of how you would play the same ride on a day ticket.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is the throwaway. It runs shorter waits than anything else in Galaxy's Edge on an ordinary day, so spending party time on it is spending the scarce thing on the cheap thing.
Ride during the entertainment, not between it
The entertainment at this event is stationary and repeating, which is a structural gift if you exploit it. Every set draws a fixed crowd into Echo Lake or Sunset Boulevard for its duration, and every ride queue in the park thins while it is on.
Check the times guide as you enter and write down the start of the second-to-last set of the night. That slot is the best ride window of the evening, because the crowd has committed to the entertainment and has stopped moving.
The corollary: watch the first set, not the last. The first set of the night has the smallest audience because guests are still arriving and eating, and the last has the largest because everyone has finished riding.
Do not queue for a character meet before 22:00. The holiday-formalwear meets are the event's distinctive content and their lines are longest in the first ninety minutes, when everyone is doing the same thing you are.
Solve dinner before you arrive, because the party will not
Food at this event is a menu, not an inclusion, and that catches out anyone who has done the Magic Kingdom parties. Assume you are paying for everything you eat and drink on top of the ticket, and budget the evening accordingly.
The move is a real dinner before the party rather than grazing during it. A table-service booking around 18:00 at the park puts you inside on your party ticket, fed, before the event content starts and before the specialty stands build lines.
If you are eating during the party, use mobile ordering rather than the specialty stands for anything that is not event-exclusive. The event stands run the longest lines of anything at the party after about 21:30, and a quick-service order placed from a queue is ready when you finish riding.
Oga's Cantina is the one bar worth planning around, and it is the one that needs a reservation rather than a walk-up. It is a different and better room late at night than it is at 14:00.
Which night, on a calendar this short
Buy the earliest nights. On a calendar of eight to fourteen dates there is no genuinely cheap ticket, so the variable that matters is the crowd, and the mid-November nights carry the smallest one by a wide margin.
The park is already fully dressed for the holidays by the first party night, and the projection sequence on Tower of Terror is running, so an opening-week ticket gets identical scenery to a December one with a fraction of the attendance.
Avoid the December weekend nights closest to Christmas. Hollywood Studios is at its yearly worst in that stretch even before the party starts, your pre-party entry window is spent in a full park, and the ticket costs the top of the band.
Buy as soon as you have decided. The short calendar means this event sells out earlier relative to its dates than either Magic Kingdom party, and there is no second chance later in the season.
Do not plan from last year's account
This event has changed shape in every cycle it has run since its 2023 debut. Venues have moved, the entertainment lineup has been rebuilt, the hours have shifted, and the balance between free content and paid content has been adjusted more than once.
That is why this page carries a grey freshness ribbon rather than an amber one. Three cycles is enough to establish that the event returns; it is not enough to establish what it will contain.
Practically: check the official event page for the current year's entertainment lineup and hours before you build a plan, and treat any blog or forum post older than one season as background rather than instruction.
The two things that have held across every cycle are the park and the ride case. Hollywood Studios has not changed, and a capped-attendance night at the park with Walt Disney World's tightest capacity is worth buying regardless of what the entertainment lineup turns out to be.
The verdict
Buy it as an after-hours ride ticket that happens to have a band. It is the only Disney World holiday party where the rides, not the shows, justify the price.
Worth it if
- Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash and Tower of Terror in one evening with short waits is worth $159 to you, which for two adults on a short trip it often is.
- You are traveling as adults and want a Disney holiday event that is not built around a parade and a costumed Santa.
- You are staying at a Skyliner or Hollywood Studios-area hotel, so a 01:00 finish means a fifteen-minute walk rather than a bus queue.
- You would otherwise have bought Lightning Lane Multi Pass plus a Single Pass at this park on a busy December day, in which case the party is competitive on price and better on experience.
- You want Oga's Cantina at night with a manageable wait, which is a genuinely different room after 22:00.
Skip it if
- You have young children. The event's tone, its late hours and its à la carte food model are all wrong for a family, and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom does the family version properly even though it costs more per head.
- You have a park reservation the next morning. Hollywood Studios rewards rope drop more than any other Walt Disney World park, and trading a rope drop for a 01:00 finish is a bad trade you will make once.
- You are buying it for the decorations or the Tower of Terror projections. Both run every night of the holiday season without a party ticket, and you can stand in the same spot on Sunset Boulevard for free in early December.
- You want a show to sit down and watch. There is no parade, no headline nighttime spectacular built for the event, and the entertainment is short sets in crowded outdoor spaces.
- Your dates are in the last two weeks before Christmas. Those nights price at the top of a narrow band, sell out fastest, and put you into the park on the busiest evenings of the year.
- You will not drink. A meaningful share of what the ticket buys is a bar program, and a teetotal party of four is paying full price for the half of the event they will not use.

Frequently asked questions
Which park is Disney Jollywood Nights at?
Disney's Hollywood Studios. It is not at EPCOT, and the confusion is common enough to be worth stating plainly — EPCOT's holiday event is the International Festival of the Holidays, which is a daytime festival included with regular admission and a completely different product.
Is food and drink included in the ticket?
No, and this is the largest single difference from the Magic Kingdom parties. Historically the event has sold its specialty food and drink separately rather than including unlimited snacks the way Not-So-Scary and Very Merry do. Budget for the evening's food on top of the ticket price, and check the current year's official event page in case that has changed.
Is it suitable for children?
It is permitted but it is not designed for them. The tone is adult, the bar program is a real part of the offer, and the event runs past midnight. Families with young children get a much better evening at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which costs more per head but is built for the audience.
How is this different from Disney After Hours?
Jollywood Nights adds seasonal entertainment and character meets on top of the low-crowd ride access that Disney After Hours sells on its own. After Hours is cheaper at the bottom of its band, includes snacks and drinks, and runs at multiple parks across much of the year. If the rides are all you want, After Hours at the same park is usually the better buy.
Are the Tower of Terror holiday projections party-exclusive?
No. The holiday projection sequence on Sunset Boulevard runs across the full holiday season on ordinary park nights, as does the rest of the park's holiday dressing. If seeing that is your goal, an ordinary evening ticket in early December achieves it for a fraction of the money.
When are the next season's dates announced?
Disney has historically announced Jollywood Nights in late summer or early autumn, closer to the event than it announces the Magic Kingdom parties. We have not verified a 2026 announcement as of July 2026, and because the event's format has changed in each of its three cycles, this page carries a last-confirmed-cycle ribbon rather than an expected one.
Can I use Lightning Lane during the party?
No. Lightning Lane Multi Pass is not sold for the event, and the attendance cap is the mechanism that is supposed to replace it. That is the correct way to price the ticket in your head: compare it against what Multi Pass plus a Single Pass would have cost you at this park on a busy December day.
Is it worth buying two nights in one trip?
No. The entertainment repeats identically and the ride list is finite; two nights at a park this size is a repeat purchase. If you want a second capped-crowd evening in the same trip, buy it at a different park rather than a second date at this one.
