Harambe Market is built as a market square that grew up around an old bus depot, and the level of set-dressing is absurd for a food court: mismatched signage, hand-painted advertisements, a tin-roofed shelter, salvaged furniture, and a soundtrack of East African pop. Cast members will tell you what is real and what is invented if you ask.
Four windows each do one thing. One does grilled skewers and flatbread wraps, one does ribs, one does sausage, and one does drinks and desserts. You order at whichever window has what you want, which means a group can split up and reconvene at a table - useful, but also confusing if you do not know that going in.
Seating is covered but not enclosed and there is no air conditioning. The shade is decent and the courtyard catches whatever breeze is moving through Harambe.
The most interesting quick-service food in the park and the best-looking place to eat it, though portions run smaller than Flame Tree for similar money and there is no escape from the heat.
