What it is

Gaston's Tavern is a dark timber-and-antler hunting-lodge interior at the far end of Fantasyland, past the Beast's castle. Inside is a fireplace, a large portrait, and a menu of about six items.

The item is the cinnamon roll. It is roughly the size of two fists, served warm, and it is one of the best baked goods sold at Walt Disney World — dense, properly gooey in the middle, and glazed rather than iced. It shares easily between three people and is priced like a single snack.

The other draw is LeFou's Brew, a frozen apple drink with a passion fruit foam on top, sold in a cup or a souvenir stein. It is sweet, non-alcoholic, and heavily marketed.

Our verdict

Go for the cinnamon roll, which is genuinely one of the best snacks on property. LeFou's Brew is sugary novelty juice and is comfortably overrated.

What to order

The dishes this kitchen is actually known for. Menus change seasonally, so treat this as what to look for rather than a guaranteed list.

  • LeFou's Brew frozen apple drink
  • Hand-dipped pretzel
  • Roasted pork shank
  • Hot chocolate

Tips for Gaston's Tavern

  • Buy one cinnamon roll for three people. It is enormous, it is warm, and ordering one each is the standard error — you will not finish it.
  • The interior is air conditioned, has real seating and is almost always half empty, which makes it the best hidden rest stop in Fantasyland. Most people order at the window and leave.
  • Come at opening. The rolls are baked in batches and the first ones of the day are noticeably better than a roll that has been sitting under a warmer since eleven.
  • LeFou's Brew is fine and it is not worth the souvenir stein upcharge unless you specifically want the cup. The regular size delivers the identical drink.
  • The tavern is a two-minute walk from Be Our Guest and is the easiest place to wait if you are early for a reservation.

Warm Cinnamon Roll

Gaston's Tavern

$7.49

A cinnamon roll roughly the size of two fists, served warm and glazed rather than iced, from the tavern at the back of Fantasyland.

Our take: One of the best baked goods on Walt Disney World property and priced as a single snack. Buy one for three people and eat it at opening, when the batch is fresh rather than warmer-held.

Do not leave without it Sweet

LeFou's Brew

Gaston's Tavern

$7.29

A frozen apple drink topped with a passion fruit and mango foam, non-alcoholic, sold in a standard cup or a souvenir stein at a premium.

Our take: Overrated. It is sweet frozen apple juice with foam on it, and the souvenir stein upcharge buys you a cup, not a better drink. The cinnamon roll at the same counter is where your money should go.

Drink Walkable

Gaston's Tavern: common questions

How big is the cinnamon roll at Gaston's Tavern?

About the size of two fists — it comfortably feeds three people. It is served warm and glazed, and it is one of the best-value snacks at Magic Kingdom for a group.

Is LeFou's Brew alcoholic?

No. It is a frozen apple drink with a passion fruit and mango foam on top, non-alcoholic and suitable for children. Magic Kingdom does not serve alcohol at quick-service locations.

Does Gaston's Tavern have indoor seating?

Yes, a full air-conditioned interior with tables and a fireplace, and it is usually far less crowded than the walkway outside. Most guests order and leave without going in, which is why there is nearly always a seat.
