Our take: The best burger at either Disneyland Resort park, largely because of the toppings bar most guests walk straight past. Use it.

Our take: Richer and heavier than the chili cone and better on a cool evening than a hot afternoon. If you are only having one cone, make it the chili.
Three pours across California regions, served on the covered upstairs terrace above Wine Country Trattoria.
Our take: The best drink at this park for anyone who wants to taste rather than consume. Flight pricing shifts with the pour list, so ask before ordering.

Shawarma Palace
Spiced chicken in a pocket bread with garlic sauce and pickled vegetables, from a cart built around a post-credits joke.
Our take: The best non-American food at this park and a real relief on day three of burgers. Portions run small for the price, so order two if it is your meal.
Marinated chicken grilled to order on skewers, served with herbed rice, salad and sauces.
Our take: The most underrated hot meal at this park, and gluten-free as served without a special menu. Eat it at the shaded garden tables near the bandstand.
Trolley Treats
A slab of English toffee coated in white chocolate and dusted with cinnamon sugar, made in limited batches at the Buena Vista Street candy shop.
Our take: Buy it in the morning because it sells out, and buy two because it survives a suitcase better than anything else at the resort.
New England-style clam chowder poured into a hollowed round of San Francisco sourdough with a real crust.
Our take: The bread carries this, and the bread is legitimately good. At around fifteen dollars for something that actually fills you up, it is the best value lunch in the park.
Vanilla ice cream buried under house-made hot fudge, whipped cream and a chocolate square, served in an air-conditioned room with real tables.
Our take: The hot fudge is made on site and applied without restraint, which is the whole argument. Split one between two people and use the indoor seating for twenty minutes.
A batched margarita poured over ice at a waterfront walk-up bar, served in under two minutes.
Our take: Batched drinks are usually a warning sign and here they are the point — cold, consistent, strong for the price, and available while every other bar has a queue.
Salami, capicola, provolone and Italian dressing pressed into an oversized pretzel roll roughly the size of a football.
Our take: A properly good sandwich hiding inside a size joke. The pretzel roll is the best bread at the park after the sourdough, and one of these genuinely feeds two people.
A thick chocolate milkshake made with the same fudge that goes on the sundaes.
Our take: Thicker than a straw can reasonably handle and better than any shake sold from a window elsewhere in the park. Order it to go if the indoor tables are full.
The same cornmeal batter wrapped around a block of cheddar instead of a sausage, fried to order and served on a stick.
Our take: Genuinely good and the only real vegetarian version of a park classic — but it comes out molten and stays that way for five minutes. Wait, or you will taste nothing for an hour.
A rotating pasta dish made in house, served in the courtyard or dining room of the park's Napa-styled Italian restaurant.
Our take: Better than it needs to be given how easy this reservation is to get. The daily pasta changes more often than the menu and is usually the best thing the kitchen makes that shift.
A rotating cocktail from the second-best bar program at the park, served upstairs at the bar or downstairs on the water deck.
Our take: Well made and fairly priced against the park's other cocktails. Sit upstairs at the bar rather than waiting for a table — it is walk-up and the bartenders are better company.
Clarabelle's Hand-Scooped Ice Cream
Hand-scooped ice cream pressed between two cookies of your choosing, assembled at the window on Buena Vista Street.
Our take: Twice the food of a cone for barely more money, and you pick both cookies. Skip this window after 8pm when everyone leaving the park descends on it.
Schmoozies!
A blended fruit smoothie from the Hollywood Land window, made without dairy by default.
Our take: Not a great smoothie, but the shortest cold-drink line in the park between 1pm and 4pm. Ask for it blended thicker or it is gone in five minutes in the heat.
A plant-based patty served as a standard burger, with gluten-free buns available on request at the counter.
Our take: The same patty used at several resort locations, but this is the only counter that lets you dress it at the toppings bar, which changes it completely.
Plant-based meatballs in marinara on a sub roll, part of the standard menu rather than a special-request item.
Our take: One of the few vegetarian quick-service items at this park that was clearly designed rather than substituted. Ask about vegan modifications at the counter — the cheese is the variable.
A rotating California-weighted draft pour from the laboratory-themed bar attached to Pym Test Kitchen.
Our take: The best beer list inside either gate, and almost nobody drinks here because the Marvel theming reads as family-only. Ask what went on most recently.
Half a rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables, served on a partitioned diner plate.
Our take: Competent comfort food and the most substantial plate you can get at this park without a reservation. Take it to the back patio facing the Racers track.
A plain round of the same sourdough used for the bread bowls, sold to take away.
Our take: The smartest cheap purchase in the park. Same bread as the fifteen-dollar bowl, and it makes breakfast at your hotel the next morning.
Señor Buzz Churros
The standard resort churro rolled in a rotating specialty coating rather than plain cinnamon sugar, with a dipping sauce.
Our take: The same churro as everywhere else, seasoned better. When the chile-lime style coating is on, it is the only churro at the resort worth going out of your way for.
Lucky Fortune Cookery
Rice topped with tofu, vegetables and a choice of sauce, assembled to order at the counter.
Our take: The easiest genuinely vegan meal in the park and the only one that is not a salad. Ask for sauce on the side or the rice turns to paste before you find a table.
Grilled vegetable skewers with the same herbed rice and salad as the meat plates.
Our take: A rare park meal that is vegan and gluten-free without anyone having to fetch a binder. Ask them to hold the yogurt sauce and take the garlic one instead.
A baked casserole of potatoes and vegetables in a cheese sauce, served as a full entree rather than a side.
Our take: One of the better vegetarian quick-service plates at the resort, and it is on the main board rather than hidden. Heavy enough that you will not want to ride afterwards.
Fillmore's Taste-In
Chilled bottled juice from the hand-painted stand at the entrance to Cars Land.
Our take: Nothing special, but Cars Land is a paved canyon with no shade and this is the first cold thing you pass. Buy it on the way in, not three rides later.
Award Wieners
A loaded hot dog with chili, cheese and onions from the Hollywood Land counter, served with a side.
Our take: Middle-of-the-road food attached to the best odds of a shaded table at lunch. The seating is the reason to come here, not the dog.
Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe
Standard Starbucks cold brew from the park's coffee location, fifty yards inside the main entrance.
Our take: Exactly what you expect at a fair price by park standards. Mobile order it from the parking tram and walk past the twenty-minute morning line.
Standard soft serve from one of the five Cozy Cone windows, available in a cup or a cone.
Our take: Fine soft serve, and Cars Land is hot enough that fine is often all you need. Order it in a cup — a cone will not survive the walk in summer.
Bayside Brews
A rotating draft pour from the walk-up stand on the edge of Paradise Bay, two minutes from the nighttime show viewing terraces.
Our take: An average beer in an excellent location. Buy it 75 minutes before the show, not 45, or you will spend the difference standing in line.
Bing Bong's Sweet Stuff
A whole apple dipped in caramel and decorated, displayed in a case positioned exactly at child eye level.
Our take: Overrated and overpriced. It is a thirteen-dollar object that is genuinely difficult to eat. Ask them to slice and box it, or skip it entirely.
Outdoor vending carts
Vanilla ice cream in a chocolate shell, shaped as a Mickey Mouse head, sold from freezer carts throughout the park.
Our take: The most reliable cheap treat at the resort and the one you can get without a queue anywhere. It is not special; it is dependable, which on a hot afternoon is worth more.
An enormous soft pretzel served with cheese and mustard dips, sized for a group and priced accordingly.
Our take: Overrated. It is a photograph, not a dish — the outside is fine and the middle is doughy, and it costs several times what four separate pretzels would. Buy it if the picture matters to you.
Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats
Soft serve in a cup or cone from the Monsters, Inc.-themed window on the pier walkway.
Our take: Ordinary soft serve in a photogenic window. Order the cup version, which is also the gluten-free one, and eat it before the pier sun gets it.
Angry Dogs
A hot dog loaded with chili and pepper heat, from the Inside Out-themed window on Pixar Pier.
Our take: A decent hot dog with real heat, which catches out kids who order it for the name. If you want something fried on a stick, Corn Dog Castle is five minutes away and much better.
Poultry Palace
A large brined and smoked turkey leg from the stand at the far end of Pixar Pier.
Our take: Overrated, and has been for two decades. It is enormously salty, awkward to eat, and impossible to share without a knife. Buy it once for the photograph and never again.
Fairfax Market
A large whole dill pickle from the fruit-and-veg cart in Hollywood Land.
Our take: The cheapest thing at this park that actually reads as a treat, and salt plus cold water is what you want at 3pm in August. Locals have known this for years.
Mortimer's Market
A piece of seasonal whole fruit from the open-air stand just inside the park entrance.
Our take: The cheapest real food inside the gate and the single most effective cost lever for a family. Buy several on the way in rather than one at a time all day.
Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta
A personal cheese pizza held under heat lamps and handed over on a tray at the park's highest-capacity counter.
Our take: Overrated by anyone who calls it acceptable. It is held, not made, and the crust shows it. Order the pasta instead, or ask for a fresh pie and wait.
